BBBOS Inspection

Yesterday was an important day in the process of getting us out or Iraq and back home.  That's because yesterday was the Customs inspection of our BBOS  (big black box of stuff).  As previously mentioned we had to unlaod the shipping container again to get Zombie's BBOS out.  The process actually started early (don't worry I have filed that under "possible miracles that I have witnessed") and was even almost kinda smooth.  We lined up in the big gravel lot (is there any other kind here?) by the inspection building and filed inside to have them searched.  The beginning was the worst part bc we were outside in the sun during the conex unloading and line-waiting part of the agenda.....and it was 107 degrees. The idea of doing that part under some sort of cover was too much to hope for.

As soon as we got inside the boxes were x-rayed and then we were sent to a table so that a Customs agent could look through our stuff for prohibited items.....of which there were just under 8,000.  From the obvious (weapons) to the mundane (only 1 Iraqi video) to the strange (no sand).  Anyway, I am either just lucky or really good at hiding the illegal stuff because I got through the inspections with no klaxons, red flashing lights, or sealed exits.  BAM!

Then it was back outside with the BBBOS to load them back on the conex.  I hope to be reunited with my stuff sometime before November.
