Joyride

Today was a good day. It all started a little later than I intended, but I am sure the extra 90 minutes of sleep after I turned off the alarm clock was good for me.  When I finally got started I went to the motor pool and "borrowed" a Humvee. (They really should secure them better if they don't want someone taking them to run errands.) With my new freedom I headed for the Post Office where I mailed 3 boxes of "stuff" home. With fuel in the tank, no police behind me, and a growling stomach I made the command decision to drive over to the chow hall and have a late lunch (actually it would count as breakfast for me, but that isn't important). I enjoyed some baked pollock in a tangy creole sauce and a salad for those of you who may be curious. Eventually I got around to returning to the motor pool before anyone who mattered realized that one of the vehicles was gone.  I think I will need to "road test" a Humvee a couple of times a week now.  Just sayin.
