Ok.....tonight's mission was scrubbed right before the mission brief at 1700 (5pm) due to Red Air. This is a condition where it is unsafe for flights to take place usually bc of weather. In this case we had a sandstorm that had cut visibility down to less than a mile. If the birds can't get in the air then they don't let the convoys run. (Unless it is a priority and in that case you get a Run on Red waver.) So, we had a class, a short meeting, and then the night off. The mission is rescheduled for tomorrow.....and it looks to be another 8+ hour run roundtrip which means we will get back to JBB sometime after 4am. Awesome.
