So, in celebration for going to the gym twice yesterday I decided to visit the pool today. Bohn Jrantley made it known that he wanted to go today as well. At 9:45 we head off to the bus stop to catch the shuttle. We got there and met up with "doc" Copeland the senior medic in Zombie Platoon. He is older than I am, and is still alive, so that makes me feel good. Anyway, the radio is on and they give out a weather update. The 11:00 temp was .........104 degrees!!! Needless to say it was, um, warm.....no, actually it was hot. It was the thermal shielding is not working upon re-entry through the atmosphere hot. The sun is much closer in this hemisphere.....something like only 1,000 miles away I think.
We didn't stay too long either. You could literally feel your skin cooking. There was a slight burning smell in the air and small wisps of smoke coming off your skin on occasion. It was so hot I couldn't even admire the 6 girls in their colorful bikinis. I mean, I am guessing that there might have been about six there. I don't really know of course because I wasn't looking. And I love my beautiful wife. Lots.
Tomorrow is supposed to get above 110 for the first time officially and Thursday is forecast to reach 116.
*The crows seem to be calling to me, thought Caw to himself.
