Turn In Time

Some time was devoted yesterday to the cleaning of most of my issued sensitive items. This would include my CCO (close combat optic) red-dot sight, AN/PEQ-15 targeting laser, and my AN/PVS14 night vision goggles.  The cleaning is required before we turn them in.  THAT is good for three reasons:

1. I don't have to keep up with these items anymore.
2. Since the cco and laser are coming off the weapon in order to be turned in it means that we are officially through running convoy escort missions.
3. It is one of the many little tasks that have to be completed before I can get to my livingroom.  :)

The plan is to turn these items in to the supply sgt. later today.  That is a little milestone that will feel great to have reached. Also, on the schedule today was a brief visit to the pool.  That will need to be postponed due to the sandstorm that rolled in last night.  Strange weather here.  Yesterday had the clearest and bluest sky I have seen yet.....and then today is like looking through pantyhose.  Ok, I am assuming that is a valid comparison as I have not looked through pantyhose since the big church mission trip of  '84.  Nevermind, it's not important.
