The news is evidently out at home that the 278th ACR's deployment has been shortened. Several units have already left theater and there is a master schedule for the departure of the rest. Fugitive Troop will be the last unit in 2nd Squadron to leave, so we still have about 6 weeks here. Then there will be stops in Kuwait, Mississippi, and finally home to Chattanooga. I hope to be at the house by September 1st.
The time we have left here will consist of running a few more missions, closing down the MoPo, turing in some of our equipment, and packing up the rest. The last month we also get the joy of moving into Transient Housing. This is where units about to leave are housed until their time to fly out. It is 20 man units, so the relative privacy of my CHU is coming to an end. I'm really (NOT) looking forward to that. Don't ask me why we can't stay put where we are until it is time to leave; there are rules!!!
It's a little cool today......barely 106 outisde.
