Deployment Vocabulary Lesson #1

In case you are curious here are some of the words and phrases
used /heard here and their approximate meaning for each.

Hooah = roger, yes, you got it, what?, I think so, I have no idea,
what the hell?, impossible, I'm on it, sure, whatever, idiot

Cavtastic = a sacrcastic reference to one's attitude when
following a moronic directive from some Cav. officer.

Bing-bangs = a phrase I created to refer to a certain
part of the male body when telling stories about crowded
showers to my sister-in-law.

Green 2 = "code" for a sensitive item check.

Cav Palace = the building where the leadership meets and
thinks about stuff.

Jombo = Ugandan for hi/hello/how are you?   (spelling??)

Tactical patience = means you determine threat level before you shoot

Courageous restraint = refers to using the right amount of force to
eliminate the threat due to civilians in close proximity.  ie: a 10-12
round burst at the AK-47-toting insurgent firing from the middle
of a market as we pass instead of 100 rounds of 7.62 and half a dozen
40mm grenades.

Slimed or octopussed = happens when the shower curtain
attahes to an arm or leg.
