This post is in response to numerous questions/comments I have had that deal with what may appear to the casual blog reader as inordinate amounts of free time to be had here on JBB. Now, undoubtedly you may have been wondering how I can run errands, strengthen my R-ball skills, and go to the pool while simultaneously playing a major role in the extermination of insurgent strongholds. I can see the confusion. Let me try to explain using a chicken analogy.
Let's say there are 20 chickens that represent the main parts of my life on this deployment. Here is how that might break down:
5 chickens are not very pretty and I choose not to share them with you
8 chickens are rather secretive or dangerous by nature and I am not allowed or don't want to let you see them (especially wife and mother)
3 chickens are plain and somewhat boring and I show them from time to time
4 chickens are fun and relatively exciting and I show them most of all
If you did not know about the whole flock you might assume by the ones I show you that I only had fun, cool, social chickens with a few plain ones thrown in.
There is real, live, tactical, military stuff going on here. I am not simply on vacation. Rest assured that Zombie Platoon IS doing the Lord's work over here. ......and now you know.
